WESTAR Comments on Update to NSPS for Wood Burning Devices - June 30, 2011
State and local agencies, including WESTAR have been working with EPA and other stakeholders on updates to the new source performance standards (NSPS) for wood burning devices. EPA is currently drafting a proposal soon to be published for public review and comment. WESTAR Comments on EPA draft Exceptional Events Guidance - June 30, 2011

WESTAR provided comments to EPA on a working draft guidance document on implementation of the exceptional events rule. The guidance specifically addressed events caused by high winds. In the letter, WESTAR supports EPA's efforts to provide guidance on approaches to expedite decisions under the exceptional events rule, but expresses concern about several aspects of the rule that have been particularly difficult to implement.
